• The International Tartan Index (STA)

• The Standing Council of Scottish Chiefs (has a tartan finder, as well as other useful information about the clans)

• TartanWeb.org ("Browse Tartan by Range" allows you to examine photo swatches of tartans from several major woolen mills)

• The Scottish Tartans Museum

  • There are many places on line to purchase tartan items, but please consider the Scottish Tartans Museum gift shop, a non-profit heritage center in western North Carolina.  All proceeds from gift shop sales go to support and maintain this museum dedicated to Highland Dress.
